The Power Station
Discover life lived inside a legendary landmark, framed by 6 million bricks and chimneys that touch the sky. Sir Giles Gilbert Scott’s design elevated what was a functional building to an Art Deco masterpiece. For its new incarnation, the architects WilkinsonEyre approached the redevelopment of the Power Station with the requisite amount of care – paying homage to its history but infusing it with a 21st-century sensibility. Michaelis Boyd’s interiors resonate with this original, irrepressible character, striking the right balance between energy, calm and the building’s former life.
Marking a major milestone for the project, we have recently completed the first apartment in the Power Station. The apartment, which is one of 253 new homes being created in the building, features original brick and steelwork dating back to the 1930s as well as new floor to ceiling Crittall windows, art deco inspired interiors and state-of-the-art appliances and technology.
